<p>In geometry, an <b>alternation</b> or partial truncation, is an operation on a <a href="page.php?w=polygon">polygon</a>, <a href="page.php?w=polyhedron">polyhedron</a>, <a href="page.php?w=tessellation">tiling</a>, or higher dimensional <a href="page.php?w=polytope">polytope</a> that removes alternate vertices.</p>
