<p><b>Arabic verbs</b> (<i>???</i> <b>';  <i>?????</i> </b>'), like the verbs in other <a href="page.php?w=Semitic_languages">Semitic languages</a>, and the entire vocabulary in those languages, are based on a set of two to five (but usually three) consonants called a <a href="page.php?w=Semitic_root">root</a> (triliteral or quadriliteral according to the number of consonants).
