The Seversky Donets or Siverskyi Donets , usually simply called the Donets , is a river on the south of the East European Plain. It originates in the Central Russian Upland, north of Belgorod, flows south-east through Ukraine (Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts)
