<p><b>Form classification</b> is the classification of organisms based on their <a href="page.php?w=morphology_%28biology%29">morphology</a>, which does not necessarily reflect their biological relationships.  Form classification, generally restricted to <a href="page.php?w=palaeontology">palaeontology</a>, reflects uncertainty; the goal of science is to move "<b>form taxa</b>" to biological taxa whose affinity is known.</p>
