The Kinetoscope was not a <a href="page.php?w=movie_projector">movie projector</a>, but it introduced the basic approach that would become the standard for all cinematic projection before the advent of <a href="page.php?w=video">video</a>: it created the illusion of movement by conveying a strip of <a href="page.php?w=film_perforations">perforated film</a></p><p>
