<p><b>Matthew Green</b> (1696-1737) was a British <a href="page.php?w=poetry">poet</a> born of <a href="page.php?w=Nonconformist_%28Protestantism%29">Nonconformist</a> parents. For many years he held a post in the <a href="page.php?w=custom_house">custom house</a>.
