Whilst the name refers to the <a href="page.php?w=Absorption_%28electromagnetic_radiation%29">absorption</a> of light, other interactions of light with a sample (reflection, scattering) may also contribute to <a href="page.php?w=attenuation">attenuation</a> of the beam passing through</p><p>
