<p><b>Angiostatin</b> is a naturally occurring <a href="page.php?w=protein">protein</a> found in several animal species, including humans. It is an endogenous <a href="page.php?w=angiogenesis_inhibitor">angiogenesis inhibitor</a> (i.e., it blocks the growth of new <a href="page.php?w=blood_vessel">blood vessel</a>s). Clinical  trials have been undertaken for its use in anticancer therapy.</p>
