Keyboards typically contain keys for playing the twelve notes of the Western <a href="page.php?w=musical_scale">musical scale</a>, with a combination of larger, longer keys and smaller, shorter keys that repeat at the interval of an <a href="page.php?w=octave">octave</a>.
