<p>In zoological nomenclature, a <b><i>nomen oblitum</i></b> (plural: <b><i>nomina oblita</i></b>; <a href="page.php?w=Latin">Latin</a> for 'forgotten name') is a scientific name that has been declared to be obsolete (figuratively "forgotten") in favor of a "protected" name.</p>
