It is a 20th-century continuation of an <a href="page.php?w=oral_tradition">ancient oral artistic tradition</a>, most notably the <a href="page.php?w=Oral-formulaic_composition">Greek oral-formulaic tradition</a>, which produced the oldest works in the Western tradition, that focuses on the aesthetics of <a href="page.php?w=recitation">recitation</a> and <a href="page.php?w=word_play">word play</a>,</p><p>
