<p><b>Stress fibers</b> are contractile <a href="page.php?w=actin">actin</a> bundles found in non-muscle cells. They are composed of actin (microfilaments) and <a href="page.php?w=Myosin">non-muscle myosin II</a> (NMMII), and also contain various crosslinking proteins, such as ?-actinin, to form a highly regulated actomyosin structure within non-muscle cells.
