<p>A <b>waffle slab</b> or <b>two-way joist slab</b> is a <a href="page.php?w=concrete_slab">concrete slab</a> made of <a href="page.php?w=reinforced_concrete">reinforced concrete</a> with <a href="page.php?w=concrete">concrete</a> ribs running in two directions on its underside. The name waffle comes from the grid pattern created by the reinforcing ribs.
