(ce?), cyng, brece</i>, and <i>seoce</i>, were now (without any change of sound) spelled <i>Kent, ke?, kyng, breke</i>, and <i>seoke</i>; even <i>cniht</i>  was subsequently changed to <i>kniht</i>, and <i>þic</i>  was changed to <i>thik</i> or <i>thikk</i>.
