In <a href="page.php?w=leptosporangiate_fern">leptosporangiate fern</a>s new leaves typically expand by the unrolling of a tight spiral called a crozier or <a href="page.php?w=fiddlehead_fern">fiddlehead</a> into fronds. This uncurling of the leaf is termed <a href="page.php?w=circinate_vernation">circinate vernation</a>.</p><p>
