<p><big>Writing system</big></p>
<p>Phoenician was written with the Phoenician script, an <a href="page.php?w=abjad">abjad</a> (consonantary) originating from the <a href="page.php?w=Proto-Canaanite_alphabet">Proto-Canaanite alphabet</a> that also became the basis for the <a href="page.php?w=Greek_alphabet">Greek alphabet</a> and, via an Etruscan adaptation, the <a href="page.php?w=Latin_alphabet">Latin alphabet</a>.</p><p>
