<p>This methodology is also at times referred to as a <a href="page.php?w=grounded_theory">grounded theory</a> approach to <a href="page.php?w=qualitative_research">qualitative research</a> or interpretive research, and is an attempt to unearth a theory from the data itself rather than from a predisposed <a href="page.php?w=hypothesis">hypothesis</a>.</p>
