Structure

The Norwegian Coast Guard is a formation within the Royal Norwegian Navy. It is led by the Chief of the Norwegian Coast Guard, who is subordinate to the Chief of the Navy. The Coast Guard is one of two seaborne formations of the Navy, the other being the Norwegian Fleet. These share land-based support functions, such as naval bases and academies.
