The 20 May 1934 Moroccan Grand Prix was held on the same day. In 1935, the Automobile Club di Sicilia tried to erase the name of Florio and call it Targa Primavera Siciliana, but that failed. It was the last real Targa event in the mountains, won by a Alfa Romeo P3 "Type B" Grand Prix car, with Grand Prix drivers
