The brothers were also homeschooled, as their parents distrusted public education, and growing up in a parsonage were made to attend church daily.

Dulles attended Princeton University and graduated as a member of Phi Beta Kappa in 1908. At Princeton, Dulles competed on the American Whig-Cliosophic Society debate team and was a member of University Cottage Club.
