<p>Such design also exists in Lao. Sonorants ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ? are originally low consonants, but when they're preceded by ?, they become high consonants.</p>

<p>The older versions of the script also included special forms for combinations of ?  + ? , ?  + ? , and ?  + ? . In addition, consonant clusters that had the second component of ?  or ?  were written with a special form ?? underneath the consonant.</p><p>
