In severe and very severe cases, there may be constant tiredness, weight loss, muscle loss, and anorexia.

Cough

The first symptom of COPD to appear is usually a chronic cough, which may or may not bring up thick slippery fluid (referred to as sputum, mucus or phlegm). Coughing up mucus can be intermittent and may be difficult to evaluate.
