Gutenberg developed specialized techniques for casting and combining cheap copies of <a href="page.php?w=Punchcutting">letter punches</a> in the vast quantities required to print multiple copies of texts. This technical breakthrough was instrumental in starting the <a href="page.php?w=Printing_Revolution">Printing Revolution</a></p><p>
