<p>Throughout the medieval Germanic languages, elf was one of the nouns used in <a href="page.php?w=Germanic_name">personal names</a>, almost invariably as a first element. These names may have been influenced by <a href="page.php?w=Celtic_languages">Celtic</a> names beginning in Albio- such as <a href="page.php?w=Mars_%28mythology%29">Albiorix</a>.</p>
