<p>repentance (metanoia) should be treated as a change of mind not as a turning from sin or sorrow for sin. Thus, in this view repentance is viewed as a synonym for faith.</p>

<p>A second view was suggested by <a href="page.php?w=Zane_C._Hodges">Zane C. Hodges</a> in which repentance is defined as turning from one's sins, but repentance is not a requirement for eternal life, only faith in Christ.
