Rebound is the suspension moving back after having been compressed, drawing the fluid through a small orifice again. There may be separately adjustable orifices dampening compression and extension. Adjustments made the dampening of extension (rebound) control how quickly a wheel can move downward, i.e. how quickly after compression it presses down with the sprung weight of the vehicle, such as rolling down the trailing side of a bump.</p>
