<p>The Cherokee character <i>?</i>  has a different orientation in old documents, an upside-down letter V, flipped as compared to modern documents.</p>

<p>There is also a handwritten cursive form of the syllabary; notably, the handwritten glyphs bear little resemblance to the printed forms.</p>
