<p>Note that some other ratios, such as the <a href="page.php?w=variance-to-mean_ratio">variance-to-mean ratio</a> , are also done for normalization, but are not nondimensional: the units do not cancel, and thus the ratio has units, and is not scale-invariant.</p>
