The book details the four roots of law (<a href="page.php?w=Qur%27an">Qur'an</a>, <a href="page.php?w=sunnah">sunnah</a>, <a href="page.php?w=ijma">ijma</a>, and <a href="page.php?w=qiyas">qiyas</a>) while specifying that the primary Islamic texts (the Qur'an and the hadith) be understood according to objective rules of interpretation derived from scientific study of the Arabic language.</p>
