<p><big>Accentual-syllabic iambic trimeter</big></p>
<p>In English and similar accentual-syllabic metrical systems, a line of iambic trimeter consists of three iambic <a href="page.php?w=metrical_foot">feet</a>. The resulting six-syllable line is very short, and few poems are written entirely in this meter.</p>
