He introduced the <a href="page.php?w=Router_%28woodworking%29">lateral router</a> to cut out wood type more quickly than handcarving.</p>

<p>William Leavenworth in 1834 introduced the <a href="page.php?w=pantograph">pantograph</a>, allowing the same form to be reproduced from a pattern, and manufactured wood type in <a href="page.php?w=Allentown%2C_New_Jersey">Allentown, New Jersey</a>.</p><p>
