<p>Sand-bearing hydrocarbon assets have high <a href="page.php?w=resistivity">resistivity</a> (low conductivity), whereas shales have lower resistivity. <a href="page.php?w=Formation_evaluation">Formation evaluation</a> instruments measure this conductivity or resistivity, and the results are used to help find oil and gas in wells.
