<p>Walton opened the American Linoleum Manufacturing Company in 1872 on <a href="page.php?w=Staten_Island">Staten Island</a>, in partnership with Joseph Wild, the company's town being named Linoleumville (renamed <a href="page.php?w=Travis%2C_Staten_Island">Travis</a> in 1930).
