<p>has three major dialects: Western (<i>Ohswé:ken</i> and <i>Kenhté:ke</i>), Central <i>Ahkwesáhsne</i>, and Eastern (<i>Kahnawà?ke</i> and <i>Kanehsatà?ke</i>); the differences between them are largely phonological. These are related to the major Mohawk territories since the eighteenth century. The pronunciation of  and several consonant clusters may differ in the dialects.</p>
