<p>collection, there are several passages which indicate the work was written as though composed by Orpheus: Orphic Hymn 76 to the <a href="page.php?w=Muses">Muses</a> mentions "mother <a href="page.php?w=Calliope">Calliope</a>", and Orphic Hymn 24 to the <a href="page.php?w=Nereids">Nereids</a> refers to "mother Calliope and lord <a href="page.php?w=Apollo">Apollo</a>", alluding to the parentage of Orpheus (whose mother was said to be Calliope, and his father, at times, Apollo).</p>
