(amomon), a kind of an Indian spice plant. <a href="page.php?w=Edmund_Roberts_%28diplomat%29">Edmund Roberts</a> noted on his 1834 trip to China that amomum was used as a spice to "season sweet dishes" in culinary practice.</p>
