<p><big>Taxonomy</big></p>
<p>The genus Arborophila was introduced in 1837 by the English naturalist <a href="page.php?w=Brian_Houghton_Hodgson">Brian Houghton Hodgson</a> to accommodate a single species, the <a href="page.php?w=hill_partridge">hill partridge</a>, which is therefore the <a href="page.php?w=type_species">type species</a>.</p><p>
