<p>In Cyprus the dialect was written solely using the <a href="page.php?w=Cypriot_syllabary">Cypriot syllabary</a>. The most extensive surviving text of the dialect is the <a href="page.php?w=Idalion_Tablet">Idalion Tablet</a>. A significant literary source on the vocabulary comes from the lexicon of grammarian <a href="page.php?w=Hesychius_of_Alexandria">Hesychius</a> (probably 5th century AD).</p>
