All species in the Auriculariales are believed to be <a href="page.php?w=saprotrophic">saprotrophic</a>, most growing on dead wood. Fruit bodies of several <a href="page.php?w=Auricularia">Auricularia</a> species are cultivated for food on a commercial scale, especially in China.</p>
