<p>The first described remains of Bison antiquus were collected at <a href="page.php?w=Big_Bone_Lick_State_Park">Big Bone Lick</a>, <a href="page.php?w=Kentucky">Kentucky</a> in <a href="page.php?w=Pleistocene">Pleistocene</a> deposits in the 1850s and only consisted of a fragmentary posterior <a href="page.php?w=skull">skull</a> and a nearly complete horn core.
