The Clayton Act specified prohibited conduct, the three-level enforcement scheme, the exemptions, and the remedial measures. Like the Sherman Act, much of the substance of the Clayton Act has been developed and animated by the <a href="page.php?w=Federal_judiciary_of_the_United_States">U.S. courts</a>, particularly the <a href="page.php?w=Supreme_Court_of_the_United_States">Supreme Court</a>.</p><p>
