<p>A major application is in <a href="page.php?w=coding_theory">coding theory</a>, more specifically to <a href="page.php?w=block_code">block code</a>s, in which the equal-length strings are <a href="page.php?w=Vector_space">vectors</a> over a <a href="page.php?w=finite_field">finite field</a>.</p><p>
