<p>Some ovipositors only retract partly when not in use, and the <a href="page.php?w=basal_%28anatomy%29">basal</a> part that sticks out is known as the <b>scape</b>, or more specifically <b>oviscape</b>, the word scape deriving from the Latin word , meaning "stalk" or "shaft".</p><p>
