It is the most inferior of the <a href="page.php?w=Fossa_%28anatomy%29">fossae</a>. It houses the <a href="page.php?w=cerebellum">cerebellum</a>, <a href="page.php?w=medulla_oblongata">medulla oblongata</a>, and <a href="page.php?w=pons">pons</a>. </p>
