<p>After the closure of <a href="page.php?w=United_States_Daily">United States Daily</a>, which was published between 1926 and 1933, <a href="page.php?w=David_Lawrence_%28publisher%29">David Lawrence</a> (1888-1973) founded the newspaper <b><i>United States News</i></b> in 1933, which was converted to magazine format in 1940. </p>
