Wenatchee, hull 240 laid down at New York Shipbuilding Corporation, Camden, New Jersey 15 June 1918, was one of three hulls intended to become Army transports already under construction at the yard, the others being hull 241 ''Sea Girt'' and hull 242 ''Koda''
