<p><big>Origins</big></p>
<p>Research into the possibilities of using breath to test for alcohol in a person's body dates as far back as 1874, when <a href="page.php?w=Francis_E._Anstie">Francis E. Anstie</a> made the observation that small amounts of alcohol were excreted in breath.</p>
