<p>For curves, curvature describes how sharply the curve bends. The canonical examples are <a href="page.php?w=circle">circle</a>s: smaller circles bend more sharply and hence have higher curvature.  For a point on a general curve, the direction of the curve is described by its <a href="page.php?w=Tangent_"> tangent line</a>.</p><p>
