<p>The word "iris" is derived from "????", the Greek word for "<a href="page.php?w=rainbow">rainbow</a>", as well as <a href="page.php?w=Iris_%28mythology%29">Iris</a>, goddess of the rainbow in the <a href="page.php?w=Iliad">Iliad</a>, due to the many colors the human iris can take.</p>
