Due to improvements in film technology and <a href="page.php?w=recordkeeping">recordkeeping</a>, few films produced in the 1950s or beyond have been lost.  Rarely, but occasionally, films classified as lost are found in an uncataloged or miscataloged archive or private collection, becoming "<a href="page.php?w=list_of_rediscovered_films">rediscovered films</a>".</p>
